Where do I start? And more importantly, what should I start with? The about me or the about us? I suppose the two are intertwined. I am Shawntel Marie Waajid, master stylist, national instructor, salon owner and the mixologist responsible for both Shawntel Marie and the Kings Solution brand...better known by my closest friends as Shawney Girl. I am a woman, mother, sister, daughter, friend and survivor. Life hasn't been kind or easy, but grace always finds me as the debris clears. Like I said, born survivor. Of life and circumstance. Of breast cancer. As I embrace this next phase of my life, I want to focus solely on growth, in business and personal. It's time to disassociate with survival mode once and for all and leave behind a profitable legacy. This is why I've invested many sleepless nights, hours of research, trial, and error behind perfecting my products.

Sure, most of my reach is local. For now. And yes, from time to time, you can still catch me concocting and mixing from my kitchen, but Shawntel Marie is a brand just as good as and if I'm honest, even better than a few of the major brands on the shelves. While I don't have thousands to dish out [yet] in ads and paid partnerships, I do have exceptional quality over quantity. Through strangers, clients, students, and friends of friends, I have gained the trust of our natural hair community. The formulas work!
